Spring 2008 Fundraiser

Inga Kashakashvili , born in the Republic of Georgia, former USSR, into a family of musicians, Inga began to study piano at the age of 3. She received first piano lessons from her mother, renowned Piano Teacher and performer. Inga’s international career was launched in 1991 when she won Newport International Competition for young pianists in Wales, UK. She appeared in Barbican Center in London, and Cardiff. The same year, Ms. Kashakashvili was invited to perform as guest artist in Newport in Tredegar House (Wales). In 2000, Ms. Inga Kashakashvili participated in Leipzig music Festival. In 2001 she was invited to perform at the Piano Summer Festival at New Paltz (New York); and that same year won Flier International Piano Competition. Her recitals were broadcasted by classical radio in Chicago WFMT; Live interview with Russian Radio "VSE" in New York. In 2006 she was awarded for her achievements and accomplishments as a young musician in “Madison who’s who”. Her appearances include solo and chamber recitals in Steinway Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera.

George Oakley, born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, began playing the piano at the age of eight. After finishing Tbilisi Saradjishvili State Conservatoire (BM) in 2001, Mr. Oakley moved to the United States and joined Ms. E. Andjaparidze Studio at DePaul University (MM) and has appeared with the AmerKlavier studio at the numerous recitals. In 2004, Mr. Oakley participated in the concert series, Birthdays of Composer Pianists, broadcasted by Chicago Classical radio WFMT. Mr. Oakley received full scholarship to participate in Piano Summer Festival at New Paltz, NY in 2001. The same year he became the winner of the Flier International Competition in New York. In 2007 Mr. Oakley has founded a music festival called "Classic meets Jazz" which was premiered at Steinway Hall in 2005. As a composer, Mr. Oakley is involved in Future Documentary Film projects and is a founder of the music educational documentary Series "Listen and learn".
